Yantai Port Bauxite Client Symposium in 2024

To further implement the strategic deployment of the Group's "building core competitive advantages" initiative and to create a world-class comprehensive supply chain service system centered on the port, the 2024 Yantai Port Bauxite Client Symposium was successfully held on July 26. Over 100 representatives from related units and logistics associations, railways, port authorities, and upstream and downstream enterprises in the alumina, mining, trading.
Qitai Aluminum has been invited to attend this conference. As a downstream factory in the aluminum industry, we also operate a bauxite business, reducing production costs from the source and providing our company with a significant competitive advantage. In 2022, we imported 120,000 tons of bauxite from Côte d'Ivoire. In 2023, we secured the sublease rights to three mines in Guinea, further enhancing our position in the bauxite industry and greatly supporting the cost reduction and efficiency improvement for Qitai Aluminum's operations.
Jiang Kai, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of Yantai Port, Zhao Weisu, Deputy Secretary General of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, Li Leqiang, Director of the Freight Department of China Railway Jinan Group Co., Ltd., and Zhang Fangxin, General Manager of Chalco Qingdao International Trading Co., Ltd., attended and delivered speeches. The meeting was chaired by Wang Yipeng, Deputy General Manager and Chief Quality Officer of Yantai Port.
As a cornerstone of Yantai Port's operations and a critical source of cargo, the bauxite business is not only a strategic sector that Yantai Port has continually developed and prioritized but also a vital component in Yantai Port's efforts to build a world-class maritime port.
Shared aspirations overcome any distance. This symposium has created an excellent platform for integration, communication, and win-win cooperation. This enhanced cooperation will ensure the stable operation of the China-Africa bauxite logistics chain and support the high-quality development of the national aluminum industry.
